One of my favorite places. Lunch and supper is good but the breakfast is amazing. Can't go wrong.

Good view. Barely passable service. Over priced menu. Felt sick about 10 minutes after living. Skip it.

Good atmosphere. Our food took longer to prepare therefore we were given complimentary dessert. Overall the food was good but shrimp are small. And I dont get the concept of crackers and butter that they give at the beginning of the meal.

Food and service was great. I had the shrimp platter and my husband had shrimp and grits.

Best gumbo I've had in a long time and that's coming from a guy who lived in Louisiana for 7 years. Service was friendly and food was timely. Back patio overlooking the "bayou" had a great atmosphere complete with mood lighting. Great experience. Will go back for sure!

Shrimp and grits were yummy. The grits are fried! The sauce is very good. Omelet was good as well. Hot cakes were ok. Service was good.

Fantastic Oysters. Got a dozen oysters for 7 dollars!! How can you beat that when the oysters taste better than 99 percent of the overpriced oysters in Florida. What a great view and great service. Some of the nicest waitresses ever!! Next time I am back on the bayou I will definitely go back to try some of their other dishes.

You have to get the shrimp grits. It's loaded with shrimp and the sauce is divine. The grits are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The breakfast plate is also excellent. The service was very good and the view of the bayou is lovely. The only thing is they serve Coke zero instead of diet coke.

It all started with the wait staff smoking in front of the restaurant and ended two hours later with shrimp clearly out of a can on top of wilted lettuce

I give them 4 stars for their shrimp and grits, price and hospitality. The decor is old and the ceiling tiles need cleaning but don't let that deter you. The view of the bayou is also very pretty.

Had a great lunch! Food was great and our server Maria was excellent as well. Enjoy their crab cakes, fried okra, salad. Their Key lime pie was wonderful.

Food was served hot, well seasoned and of good portion size. Service from Kevin was exceptional. Nice family feel and comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely visit again next time we are in town!!!

We stopped for a late lunch looking for seafood with a view! We got much more than we bargained for.... 1/2 fresh grilled shrimp po boy and a side of coleslaw each! It was delicious, just enough food and hit the spot. Our waitress was attentive and gave us ideas on places to visit during a day drive along the Gulf Coast. We watched fishermen practice their trade on a chilly almost cloudless afternoon In front of the restaurant. Thank you! We are so glad we stopped! It was worth the very reasonable price tag and outstanding meal we both enjoyed.

Food was average at best. Prices were above average. Service was okay. Location and view is nice, but interior could be updated.

Instinct. That's what satisfies our bellies. My first instinct was to get a po boy from BB's. Why didn't I listen to my belly? I was promised fresh seafood in Ocean Springs. Haha! McElroys is not the place. What would possess someone to sell a "crab" dressing? Only the outside of the building is welcoming. The food is not. Overpriced and underwhelming describes our experience. Sheesh... 40 bucks for 2 dinners we could've got at Popeye's for 20. Please, Ocean Springs, help the owners fix their establishment...

Went during a slow period, both food and service we very good. We had blackened crab cakes, shrimp po-boy and gumbo. I'm no gumbo pro, but I really enjoyed this one! Would go again in a minute.

I like their breakfast but not so much for dinner. Too much breading on seafood. Just my pref. overall not a bad place to eat.

I'm just visiting here, but this was the second place I went to and although empty tables were visible they still had us wait. It may be a South thing, but to me screams poor customer service. Even it is due to lack of staff, which it did not seem, I would be more happy sitting at a table with at least a drink than just waiting. Anyway, I ordered shrimp and grits for the first time and I thought it was excellent. We also tried the beignets and they were delish. My husband had the shrimp omlette and it was literally shrimp, eggs and cheese. I tried it and it was gross. I'm disappointed with the sea food in this area so far given the proximity to the ocean. I'm originally from California so I know difference, but I get better sea food in the St. Louis area.

Great view for dining. Had breakfast. Wife had shrimp and grits which she said was excellent. Outside of the eggs...mine came straight from the freezer... hash browns weren't hash browns but frozen potato squares... 1 small piece of frozen sausage and soggy toast.... service was good.

If I could, I would give them 2.5 stars. They deserve more than 2, but not 3. I ordered the seafood platter, fried ($21). I am super picky about my food arriving hot. Fried food should especially be hot when served. The fish and scallops were hot. Everything else: fries, oysters, shrimp and crab cake were just barely warm. The food quality was great and I would have given 4 stars if only the food was hot. One other note: the fish on the platter is not identified on the menu. I believe it was Swai. Swai is Asian "catfish". It tastes good, but is farmed in horrific conditions (usually in Vietnam or other Asian countries) and therefore is not considered healthy to eat. My husband ordered the half and half platter (fish & shrimp) with fries. His food was also barely warm. On a positive note: they do have great battered fries...even better if hot!

If I were a seafood fan, I'd be all over this place. My friends love their food. I enjoy their salads. Their customer service is mediocre and could definitely be much better.

We had the special for lunch and received a bunch of food for the price. The stuffed crab was made from real crab meat (I'm used to imitation). We sat near the window and watched the animals and water.

I was part of a HUGE group for dinner. I ordered the platter, broiled. We were kind of bumme dit took about an hour to place our order, but the food was GREAT. I eyed everyone's plate, and it all looked delicious. Well...somone orderd a freakin club sandwhich, but everyone elses plate looked good. My ladyfriend had a filet, which was also delicious. Every single thing on my plate was off da hook...the shrimp, oysters, crab cake (I wanted more!) and fish (I think it was Flounder...tasted like it). I know we were a huge group, but at the end of the night, lots of peoples bills were jacked up, paying for others food, beer, etc. Kind of a bummer. Me and my lady friend decided we most def are coming back for another try!

I have a blackeded Snapper with a Lump Crabmeat sauce that was to die for!!!! I cannot wait to go back. I also enjoyed the quaint atmosphere.

It was a good choice with a great view the food was decant but nothing special I feel we paid about $10 too much for our meal fried shrimp a bit small compared to the other places around where the shrimp were a bit bigger the flounder was done perfectly and tasted great and it's size was perfect ,give it a try it's not bad

As a child we used to go to Fisherman's Wharf in Ocean Springs (at 11:30 "to beat the noon rush"). Believe they lost their location to a Casino, and this is a successor restaurant. We were visiting the Gulf Coast this week and stopped at McElroy's. Gumbo to start and Shrimp or Oyster Po-Boys all around. We were all very happy. The view out back is wonderful too. Can't compare other local spots to let you know where this ranks, but living in Boston I found McElroy's had reliable versions of some of my favorits.

I was in town and went there with my family. I would have been better off eating a bologna sandwich. I ordered one of the specials, the 1/2 and 1/2 which you got to pick 2 different things for your platter. I should have known I was going to be in trouble because I was looking at the full menu to pick out what I wanted and the waitress asked me "Do you want that one or the special?". I don't know about you, but usually, the special is the same thing as the the full menu just cheaper. Well, what it really ended up being was a very expensive child's plate. The food: I got a stuffed crab and shrimp. The shrimp were nothing to write home about. They didn't look like any "real" shrimp I have ever had on the coast. They looked like shrimp you get in the frozen food section and cook yourself at home. The crab was also prepackaged. The stuffed crab was some flavorless pasty crab like substance in a foil crab. Sounds like prepackaged to me. I've never had a stuffed crab in a fake crab shell. EVER. ANYWHERE. So overall, it sucked really bad. If I wanted frozen shrimp and crab, I could have gone do the grocery store and fed everyone at my table for the price of my kid's meal. Other problems with food...my dad got the fried fish. He got one piece of fish. ONE! My daughter, who ate the kid's fish had more fish than he did! You see where I am going with this? My mom skipped past any seafood and got a club sandwich and the bacon was burned. Ugh! I am seriously going to stop taking recommendations from my cousins on where to eat because their taste buds are apparently broken. Service was slow. At one point, our waitress came and told us the kitchen was backed up because of a big order but the place was not even half full so who knows what their deal was.

Had a gift certificate for this place. I had crab cakes which were a little dry. The atmosphere is lacking but they have a nice view..The staff was nice and it was pretty quiet there. But I doubt that I would take anyone there.

This place is like a simple diner. The food is satisfying and simple too. I think it is a little expensive for the type of food served, but i guess thar's because of the real estate. The service was great and the best dish we had was their penne pasta.

Ate here on a recent trip to visit family. We had a large group, and came right at noon during Christmas week, so had to wait about 20 minutes - not bad. Service was good. The view out the windows to the bayou was really nice. After lunch we walked out on the pier and watched birds on the water. I honestly can't remember what I ate - I'm not a big seafood person. But there were many non-seafood choices, and my food must have been non-remarkable for me not to remember it 10 days later. Others had red beans & rice, oysters, po-boys, etc. - and seemed to enjoy their meals.

Gave these guys a try while visiting Ocean Springs. The food was pretty good but the service was amazing. Prices were fairly high for the seafood selections but everything else was priced normally. My family was very happy with the seafood. I had the club sandwich which was good. The view of the bayou was amazing.

Good food, served hot. The waitress did a fine job keeping our cups filled. Very attentive. The view over the back bayou is great. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Prices very reasonable. A good experience that we've come back for several times.

Nothing special here except for some very nice murals. Ordinary food, service, and decor. Nice views through large windows overlooking bayou. We're not likely to return.
